A Recoat Window and a Return-to-Service Time Are Different Instructions
A product document may contain several timing statements for different purposes. A partner crew should identify which one governs the next activity before turning a table entry into a schedule promise. Time to apply another layer is not automatically permission for the owner to resume ordinary traffic or cleaning.
Read the heading with the number
Distinguish working time, waiting time between layers, permitted traffic and full cure where those categories appear in the selected system’s current instructions. Manufacturer documents can separate these milestones. The cited Sika reference is an example of that document structure, not an endorsement, evidence of use on a SlabWorx project or an instruction for a different product.
Keep the stated conditions attached
The relevant temperature, substrate, layer and other qualifications belong with the instruction. Do not detach a favorable number from its conditions or substitute a familiar product’s table. Ask the responsible technical reviewer if the actual site condition does not match the document’s basis. A late layer application or changed condition may require its own reviewed response, not an improvised extension of the schedule.
Issue activity-specific handoffs
Separate the crew’s next-layer decision from the operating contact’s use release. State the defined activity, applicable instruction and remaining restrictions through the accepted project process. No universal waiting period is created by this guide. A clear handoff prevents an owner from assuming that one construction milestone opens the whole floor, and prevents the crew from treating a traffic statement as permission to ignore the next layer’s application requirements.
